NAMI of Cape Cod is a welcoming grassroots organization of families and friends of people with mental illnesses and people with mental illnesses. Its purpose is to provide support, education, and advocacy. It provides support to families through its three support groups on the Cape. It provides support to people with mental illnesses through its two support groups on the Cape. Education is provided through a 12 week course covering all aspects of mental illnesses offered 2-3 times a year. NAMI also provides periodic presentations of interest to families and people with mental illnesses. NAMI provides advocacy through its efforts to improve the delivery of mental health care.
